Neel Shahi, a good friend of CCF, runs a non profit called TEAM Nepal (Together Everybody Achieves More) in the area of Sindupalchok. TEAM Nepal is a very well regarded organization that runs orphanages and is doing very effective aid to the very hard hit area of Sindupalchok. They are focusing on water purifiers, mobile toilets, and health clinics/camps. Many of Ganesh Himal Trading’s producer partners are from village areas of Sindupalchok and many have lost their family homes and family members there.
On May 14th, CCF wired $5,000 to TEAM Nepal to begin relief efforts. TEAM Nepal arrived at Bhote Namlang around 6pm on May 19th. There, they were able to distribute 7,500 kg of rice, 480 kg of pulse, 500 kg of salt– enough to feed 665 families who had previously received no aid.
Thanks to the great efforts of TEAM Nepal, CCF is able to reach many devastated areas that directly affect our producers lives. We have worked closely with Neel’s son, Suraj Shahi, to create awareness of their work among NGOs working in Nepal. They are now connected with Waves for Water, The Believers and our producer partner Kesang who will be providing a truck to transport their supplies so that they do not have to rent one. CCF is so thankful for TEAM Nepal’s hard work and dedication.

“We will be distributing food in Bhota Namlang. This village is the poorest village in Sindhupalchok. and according to our survey they need immediate food supply. Geographically this village is very remote… In Nepal their is cast system like upper cast and lower cast…all the lower cast poor people live in this village. And just for knowledge we, New generation does not follow and cast system but those villagers do. This village has around 600 houses and we will be distributing around 600 sack of food. Each household will get enough food for around 20 days.”
